Habitual Snoring
Evaluation of frequent or persistent snoring and possible nose or throat factors contributing to it.
Dr. Lokesh Bhama provides ENT evaluation for snoring and sleep-related breathing problems in Thane, with attention to nasal obstruction, mouth breathing and other ENT factors that may contribute to disturbed sleep.
Snoring can be related to several factors involving the nose, throat and upper airway. Nasal blockage, mouth breathing, enlarged tissues and other ENT conditions may contribute to noisy or disturbed breathing during sleep.
An ENT assessment helps look for structural and airway-related factors that may be contributing to snoring. Symptoms, examination findings and the patient's overall sleep history are considered before deciding on further evaluation or treatment.
Treatment depends on the underlying cause. It may include management of nasal obstruction or other ENT conditions, lifestyle measures, further sleep assessment or referral when a sleep-related breathing disorder is suspected.
Persistent or troublesome sleep-related symptoms may warrant an ENT evaluation.
Evaluation of frequent or persistent snoring and possible nose or throat factors contributing to it.
Assessment of nasal obstruction that can make comfortable nasal breathing difficult during sleep.
Evaluation of persistent mouth breathing, particularly when nasal obstruction or other ENT causes are suspected.
Clinical assessment when snoring or upper-airway symptoms are associated with poor or disrupted sleep.
Sleep-related symptoms may require further assessment, particularly when significant daytime tiredness is present.
When symptoms suggest a sleep-related breathing disorder, further sleep evaluation may be appropriate.
An ENT examination can identify nasal and upper-airway factors, but an ENT examination alone cannot diagnose every sleep-related breathing disorder. When symptoms raise concern for obstructive sleep apnea or another sleep disorder, a sleep study may be recommended.
A sleep study records breathing and other physiological parameters during sleep and helps determine whether further sleep-related treatment is required.
